The Autumn Tag

Favourite thing about autumn:
My favourite thing about autumn definitely has to be the fashion. Jumpers, coats, boots etc are my favourite type of fashion so when it comes to autumn I take full advantage of this! I obviously love summer weather and wearing the occasional crop, but I can't deny my love for over sized knitted jumpers and chunky boots.

Favourite Drink:
I don't really have a specific 'favourite autumn drink' because I am tea enthusiast all year round.

Favourite Scent/candle:
My favourite scent during autumn is generally the smell outside at night during this time of year. It smells cold and reminds me of Halloween/bonfire night which I absolutely love!! It just reminds me that Christmas isn't so far away...eeeek!

Favourite Lipstick:
My favourite high street lipstick this time of year is the Rimmel Kate Moss matte lipstick in the shade 107. It is a deep red which is perfect for Autumn and then the matte finish makes it even better. However, my favourite high end lipstick has to be the Estee Lauder matte lipstick in the plum shade.

Favourite Moisturiser:
My go to moisturiser has to be the moisturiser from the dermologica fresh start range. It is really hydrating and protects my skin from the cold autumn winds, leaving it feeling super soft.

Favourite Eyeshadow Colours:
I really love the warmer tones in autumn such as: gold and bronze as I feel they first of all compliment my blue eyes and also look great with autumn clothing colours> For example, the MUA Heaven and Earth palette has a range of great autumnal looking eye shadows.

Favourite Music or Band:
My favourite band to listen to throughout the whole year is Arctic Monkeys (even more so now they're amazing new album 'AM' has been released), but during Autumn especially I tend to go back to Ben Howard on those cold, 'stay at home' days.

Favourite Outfit:
My favourite outfit during Autumn is a chunky knitted jumper, paired with some thick black leggings and some edgy ankle boots.

Autumn Treat:
I treated myself to a Topshop Angora Jumper last week which was quite pricey at £48, but totally worth it!! It's so comfy and warm and such a staple autumn piece.

Favourite Place:
My favourite place to be this time of the year is at home snuggled up next to the open fire, watching Harry Potter and drinking tea.

I tag everybody who wants to give it a go!

Goodbye!

September Wishlist

As September has arrived and those dark, cold days are looming, I have been browsing online for the latest autumn must-haves!! However, unfortunately I haven't started my job yet so everything is a little out of my price range (god dammit), but oh well, i'll just have to stick with a wish list for now.

1. H&M BouclĂ© Jacket in Burgundy - £34.99
2. Zara Floral Print Jacket - £29.99
3. Missguided Dotty Contrast Oversized T-shirt Dress - £14.99
4. Zara Cropped Trousers in Pink - £29.99
5. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush - £8.99
6. Topshop Joni Jeans in Black - £36.00

I love absolutely everything on this wish list, but if i had to pick my favourites it would definitely be the two jackets. They are both staple pieces perfect for the autumn weather!

MUA Product Review

Recently I have been unable to stop myself from spending, whether it's clothes or makeup. I was simply browsing online when I happened to stumble across some new products on the MUA website. I have used MUA before and you definitely get more than what you pay for, so I made a little purchase.

Firstly, I noticed the new 'matte' range is now available so obviously I bagged two autumnal lipstick colours in 'Scarlet Red' and 'Wild Berry'. Both lipsticks have a nice matte finish and the pigmentation is good (especially as they are only £1 each!!) However, the lipstick tends to drag across your lips because it is a matte product but after eventually applying it, the colour looks great. The 'Scarlet Red' is brighter than I expected yet I still like it and the 'Wild Berry' looks as if it is going to be brown but it is actually a lovely plum colour.

The next two products I bought were the 'MUA Brow Kit' and the 'MUA E3 Blending and Shadow Brush'. I have only used the 'Brow Kit' briefly earlier on today when the package arrived and I am already impressed. The kit comes with 3 different shades, fixing gel to keep your brows in shape, tweezers and a double-ended angled brush. I have only used the dark brown shade but it is extremely pigmented and goes onto the brow well. The product was only around the £3 mark, so you can't really go wrong. It says the product is new, yet I'm confident that it has been on sale for a while now. I cannot really comment on the blending and shadow brush as I haven't tried it yet but it is a good size and the brush is incredibly soft, which is perfect for blending shadow.

Hopefully this post will help you if you are wondering whether to purchase anything from MUA any time soon.

Goodbye!

Back to School Beauty Essentials

It's that time of year again when school, college, university or whatever it may be are back! They have ended your beautiful relationship with summer and dragged you back into the routine of early mornings and 'should be' early nights (god damn the internet). I have been at college almost two weeks now and I have discovered what my 'back to school beauty essentials' are.

Firstly, I have repurchased the 'Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation' in True Ivory as on these early autumn morning my face needs a bit of a brighten to say the least. This foundation is usually paired with the idea of a summer glow, yet I believe it is also perfect for this time of year. The light coverage is ideal for school/college as it is subtle yet still covers the nasty bits we don't want the rest of the world to see. The dewy finish provides a glow to your face throughout the whole day, even if you stayed up all night watching YouTube videos like me (oops).

The next beauty essential is the 'Rimmel Stay Matte Concealer'. I found this at a market stall for £1.99 and decided to give it a go. The coverage is really good and it is true to its name as the areas where I applied it, do 'stay matte' all day. You cannot go wrong for only £1.99.

For a while now, the 'Maybelline Baby Lips' craze has taken over the blogging world. They have been sold in America for ages and I had been anticipating the day they launched in the UK. They have finally arrived and obviously I purchased every single tinted colour. Thank god I did. They are amazing and completely live up to my expectations! All three shades are extremely moisturising and give off a gorgeous coloured tint which lasts throughout the day. These are perfect for school as they are only lightly pigmented yet enhance the natural colour of your lips whilst keeping them moisturised all day.

The next two back to school essentials i have chosen are the 'Soap and Glory Mist You Madly Body Mist' and the 'Urban Fudge Sea Salt Spray'. The S&G mist is a light floral scent that I think is ideal and not too powerful for school/college. It lasts throughout the day, yet if you feel you need to reapply it, S&G sell a 30ml bottle also which will easily fit in your school bag. Finally, the 'Urban Fudge Sea Salt Spray' gives your hair incredible texture and the kind of effortless look that is perfect for school/college. It is extremely quick and easy to use and smells of delicious coconut. Use this in your hair and I guarantee that your friends will compliment it.

I hope this post is helpful to all of you returning or going to school, college or university this September.
Goodbye!
